Live lessons are included in Monassati, with the same features as Pro: unlimited lessons and no ads. And there's nothing new to learn: your academy's live lesson is a normal Hessety lesson in one of your classes, and the Hessety app stays exactly as it is.
How to add a live lesson to a course
- In the course editor, tap + Lesson → Live lesson.
- Pick one of your Hessety classes, or tap + Make a new class for this course.
- That's it. Every student who joins the course is added to the lesson by themselves, with a personal invite in their name.
Each class links to one course only. If the class is linked to another course, pick a different class or make a new one.
How you start the lesson
Exactly like today: from the Hessety app (on a phone or Windows), or from the teaching page on the website. No new button and no app update.
How your students join
- Your academy's students join from their account there: from the course or from "My courses" in your academy, they tap Join the lesson, and the lesson page your students already know opens, in the browser or from the academy installed on their phone.
- Each student has a personal invite, so only students enrolled in the course get in. If a student's subscription ends, the lesson locks for them until they renew.
- Students on an iPhone: if the camera or mic doesn't work from the installed academy, they open your academy in Safari and join the lesson from there.
The class code doesn't work for academy classes
Your academy's students join from their accounts with a personal invite each, so the class code doesn't work for a class linked to a course:
- On the website, the code doesn't show on the class screen.
- In the Hessety app the code may still show, but anyone joining with it sees: "This code doesn't work for this lesson. Academy students join from their account there."
- So if a student tells you the code doesn't work, send them the course's link in your academy so they can join from there.
Where do your students show up?
- On the website: all of them, in Students on your academy dashboard. On the class card on the website you'll see a line like "+ 340 students from your academy" that opens "Students".
- In the class list in the Hessety app they don't show up; only your regular students do. That's expected, and the app doesn't change.
How many students fit in a lesson?
In the lesson's settings you'll see "The live lesson holds up to … students at the same time", at Pro limits. If more students are enrolled in the course than that, we'll point it out there: if they all join at once, whoever arrives after it's full will find it full.
Have a Hessety class you'd like to move into your academy?
From your academy dashboard, tap Move a class:
- "Which class do you want to move?" Pick the class and link it to a course with a live lesson (or make a new course for this class).
- "Send your students their links": each student gets a link to activate their account and choose a password, valid for 7 days. There's Send it on WhatsApp for each student, and Copy all.
- After the move, the class code stops, and your students join the lesson from their academy accounts. Their old links keep working until they activate, so nobody misses the next lesson.
- You'll see "12 of 20 students activated", and a Remind the rest on WhatsApp button.
If your Monassati subscription ends
Live lessons stop as soon as the subscription ends, exactly like Basic and Pro. Academy students who try to join will see: "This lesson isn't available right now. Talk to Mr/Ms …". Renew from Your Monassati plan on your academy dashboard and the lessons come back as they were. Your regular classes (the ones not linked to a course) work on whichever plan you choose afterwards.
