Your students are yours: no ads in your academy, we never show them other teachers, and you can download their details any time.
How a student creates an account
On the course page, as soon as they tap Join (or Start for free), a small panel rises from the bottom of the screen over the course page itself, with no new page:
- Their full name, their mobile number (they sign in with it every time), and a password of at least 8 letters or numbers.
- Their age: "Under 15" · "15 to 17" · "18 or older". Under 15, we ask for a parent's or guardian's name and number and their agreement.
- Email (optional): so a link can reach them if they forget their password.
- School year: only if you turned on "Ask for the school year".
After Create my account they carry straight on to payment, or to "My courses". "Remember me" is on by itself for 30 days.
The same number is already registered? Every student needs their own number so they have their own account and progress. If two siblings share a home number, the second one signs up with any other number at home (even one without WhatsApp), or asks you to add them.
How students join (you choose)
From Settings → Advanced settings → Students and devices:
| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| Open | Anyone creates an account and starts right away. |
| With my approval | The student creates an account and waits; you approve them in "Students" → Waiting for your approval. |
| Only I add students | Nobody can create an account on their own. The student sees "Accounts here are added by (your name). Ask them to add you." with a WhatsApp button to you. |
Adding students yourself
- + Add a student: the name and number, and a course to open if you like. We give you an activation link (works for 7 days) with a Send it on WhatsApp button: the student opens it and chooses their own password.
- Add several: paste up to 200 lines, one student per line as "name - mobile" (from Excel or WhatsApp messages; we tidy them up). Before adding we show who's ready, who already has an account (the course just opens for them), and which lines need fixing.
- Have a class on Hessety? Move your class to the academy makes accounts for its students with their names and numbers.
The student's page
In "Students", search by name or the last digits of the mobile, and filter by course or status. On each student's page:
- Courses and progress in each, how it was opened (paid, code, you opened it…), and + Open a course, Extend access or Close the course.
- Live lesson attendance.
- Devices (2 of 3) and Sign them out of all devices: the student will need to sign in again with their password on any device; their account and courses stay as they are.
- Password link: for a student who forgot their password and has no email. The link works for 7 days, once.
- Block the student: they can't enter or watch, and a video that's playing stops within 10 minutes. Their courses and payments stay recorded, and you can bring them back any time.
Download your students (CSV): a file that opens in Excel with name, mobile, courses and last sign-in.
Devices: 3 per student
Each account opens on 3 devices (you can set 2 to 5). Three is for: the phone's browser, the same phone from the home-screen icon if they installed the academy, and a laptop.
- Students remove any device themselves, any time, from My devices, without waiting for you. The device in their hand says "(this device)" and can't be removed by mistake.
- If they reach the limit while signing in on a new device: we ask which device to remove, with the oldest already picked, and they carry on on the same page in two taps.
- A device not opened for 60 days is removed by itself and stops counting, so someone who changed phones isn't surprised.
- On an iPhone: Safari and the academy installed on the home screen count as two devices. And opening the link inside Facebook or TikTok counts as a device of its own, which is why we tell students to open it in Chrome.
- How many devices can watch at once: one by default. If a video opens on another device, the newest one carries on and the old one pauses with a kind message. You can make it two if you have siblings studying from one home.
A student forgot their password
- They have an email: they tap "Forgot your password?" and a link reaches their email.
- No email: we tell them to message you on WhatsApp (with a ready message including their number), and you send them a password link from their page.
A student deleted their account
Students can delete their own account from "My account". They show to you as "Deleted student", and their payments stay in your records so your accounts stay right.
