Signed in at an internet café and forgot to sign out? Your old phone still signed in? Or did you lose your phone? This is where you sign your account out of every device at once.
From the website: every device except the one you're on
- Open Account on the website.
- In the Settings card, click "Sign out of other devices".
- Your browser asks: "Sign out of every other device? The apps and other browsers will ask you to sign in again; this browser stays signed in." Say OK.
- You'll see "Signed out of every other device".
From the app: every device, including this phone
- Open Account, and scroll to the bottom.
- Tap "Sign out of all devices".
- You'll see "Sign out of all devices?". Tap "Sign out of all devices".
- The app goes back to the start screen. Sign in again if you want to keep using this phone.
The difference between the two
| From the website | From the app | |
|---|---|---|
| The button's name | "Sign out of other devices" | "Sign out of all devices" |
| Apps on every device | Signed out | Signed out, this phone too |
| Browsers | Signed out, except the one you're on | All signed out |
After signing out
- Any app or browser that was signed in to your account asks you to sign in again. On a phone, you'll see "You've been signed out on this device. Sign in again to continue."
- Phones stop getting Hessety notifications until you sign in on them again.
- Your classes, students, their links and your subscription stay just as they are. Nothing is erased.
Think someone knows your password?
Signing out of your devices gets them out now, but if they have your password, they can sign back in. So change your password too: in Your details on Account (in the app or on the website), press "Change password", or use "Forgot your password?". The steps are in Forgot your password, or want to change it. Changing your password signs out the apps and other browsers by itself, and the device you're on stays signed in.
