Lock the lesson

From More, choose Lock the door. From that moment:

  • Everyone who's already in stays as normal.
  • A student who joined with their link and lost their internet can get back in.
  • Anyone new who tries to join sees "The teacher has locked the door", even if they have the link or the class code.

To open it again, choose Unlock the door from the same place.

When should you lock the door?

  • After all your students have joined.
  • If the class code was shared somewhere it shouldn't have been.
  • After you remove someone who joined with the code, so they can't get back in.

A student is late and the door is locked

Unlock the door, wait until they join, then lock it again.

Built-in protection

  • Every student has their own link with their name, so you know who joined.
  • Only a limited number of people can join with the code without a link, so they don't take your students' places.
  • A student you remove can't come back to the same lesson with their link.
