This is useful when you're teaching from a computer (the Windows app or the browser) and want to write on paper or a real board. You need an Android phone with the Hessety app.
Connect your phone
- In the lesson on your computer: from More, choose Phone camera. A 6-digit code appears, with a QR code too in the Windows app.
- On your phone: open the Hessety app on Android and tap "Use my phone as a camera". This button is on the app's first screen, before you sign in, so use a phone that isn't signed in to your account in the app.
- Type in the six digits, or scan the QR code if there is one, and allow camera access.
Your phone sends its picture to the lesson right away, and your students see it. Your phone and computer don't need to be on the same Wi-Fi.
The code only works for 2 minutes. If it runs out, get a new code on the same screen, or close it and choose Phone camera again.
Tips
- Put your phone on a stand or lean it against something, with the camera looking down at the paper.
- Make sure the lighting is good, and keep your hand's shadow off the paper.
- Keep your phone on the charger if the lesson is long.
If the picture isn't showing
- Make sure both the phone and the computer are connected to the internet.
- If your phone says it needs camera permission, allow the app to use the camera in your phone's settings.
- Get a new code and try again.
- See Camera not showing.
