This article is for students and parents. If you're a teacher, send it to your students.
With the link (easiest)
- Open the link your teacher sent you on WhatsApp.
- You'll see your name, like "Hi Ahmed".
- Press "Join lesson".
This link is yours alone, and it keeps working for every lesson. Save it, or pin the message in WhatsApp.
With the class code
If your teacher gave you a code like 7KQ-29M:
- From the browser: open hessety.com/j, type the code and your name, and press "Join lesson".
- From the app: open the Hessety app, choose "I'm a student", type the code or paste the link, add your name, and press "Join lesson".
If the lesson hasn't started yet
You'll see "The lesson hasn't started yet" and the time of the next lesson, if your teacher has set one. Keep the page open, and we'll let you in as soon as your teacher starts.
- In the browser, you can press "Notify me when the lesson starts" to get an alert if you switch to another page.
- If you joined with your link, you can press "Add to your phone's calendar" so the lessons show up in your calendar.
Inside the lesson
At the bottom you have just five buttons: Mic, Camera, Raise hand, Chat, Leave.
If the lesson has lots of students when you join, you might only be able to watch and listen at first. Raise your hand if you want to speak, and when your teacher lets you, your mic turns on.
If you leave or your internet drops, come back with the same link as long as the lesson is still running.
