The first time
When you turn on your mic or camera for the first time, the browser or the app will ask for permission. Choose "Allow".
If you pressed "Block" by mistake
On Chrome (Android or computer):
- Tap the lock or settings icon next to the address at the top.
- Set the mic and camera to "Allow".
- Refresh the page.
On iPhone (Safari):
- Tap "aA" next to the address.
- Choose Website Settings, and set the camera and microphone to "Allow".
- Refresh the page.
In the Android app: go to your phone's Settings → Apps → Hessety → Permissions, and turn on the camera and microphone.
The mic won't turn on at all
If you joined to watch and listen (because the lesson has lots of students), your mic won't turn on until your teacher lets you speak. Press Raise hand and wait. When your teacher lets you, you'll see "The teacher let you speak".
Tips
- Close any other program that's using the camera, like Zoom or a WhatsApp video call.
- A headset with a mic makes your voice clearer and stops echo.
- Keep your mic off when you're not speaking.
