Camera not showing

The camera won't turn on at all

1. Make sure the Camera button is on.
2. Close any other program that's using the camera, like Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp Desktop. The camera can't work with two programs at the same time.
3. Check the permission:
   • Windows: Settings → Privacy & security → Camera, and allow access.
   • Android: Settings → Apps → Hessety → Permissions → Camera.
   • Browser: click the lock icon next to the address and set the camera to "Allow", then refresh the page.
4. If you have more than one camera, choose the right one from More → Audio settings in the app, or from More in the browser.
5. Some laptops have a camera switch or cover. Make sure it's open.

My camera works, but students can't see me

• Wait a few seconds after turning on the camera, especially if the internet is weak.
• If the student sees "Waiting for the teacher's camera…" for a long time, turn your camera off and on again.
• If you're teaching from a phone browser, the camera stops when you leave the page and comes back when you return to it. Keep the page open in front of you for the whole lesson.

The second camera on my phone isn't showing

• The code only works for 2 minutes. Get a new code from More → Phone camera.
• Make sure the Hessety app on your phone has camera permission.
• See Your phone as a second camera.

The picture is dark or not clear

• Light the room from in front of you, not from behind, and don't sit with your back to a window.
• Wipe the camera lens.
• If the internet is weak, the picture quality drops by itself so the sound doesn't cut out. That's normal.
