Setting up your academy, step by step

From sending your Monassati payment to your academy going live: short questions in about 6 minutes from your phone, every answer ready and changeable later.

Setting up your academy is a set of short questions, one per screen, in 6 parts: Name · Look · Photos · About you · Payments · Publish. Each question takes seconds, and the whole setup about 6 minutes. You can do all of it from your phone or a computer. If you can send a photo on WhatsApp, you can do this.

Before you start

  • Setup opens as soon as you send your Monassati payment, even while we're still confirming the transfer. After you upload the transfer screenshot you'll see "We got your transfer ✓ … let's set up your academy!" Tap Let's start. No waiting for us.
  • You don't need to prepare anything. Every question comes with a ready answer from your Hessety account: your name, number, photo and subject. If you tap Next on every screen without changing a thing, you still get a complete academy.
  • Everything can change later: the name, look, colours, photos, text and ways to pay.

What the screen looks like

  • At the top: 6 dots named after the parts, with the one you're in coloured. On a phone you'll see, for example, "2 of 6 · Look", and under it "About 4 minutes left".
  • Save and exit: if you'd like to finish later. Everything saves by itself anyway, and next to it you'll see "Saving…" then "Saved ✓".
  • The arrow at the top takes you back to the last question, with your answer as you left it.
  • At the bottom: the Next button, and under it a Later link if you don't want to answer now.
  • See your academy: on a phone, a button at the bottom opens your academy full screen. On a computer your academy shows next to the questions and changes with every letter you type.

The questions, one by one

1. Name

  • "What should we call your academy?": it already says "Your name's Academy". Keep it or type what you like, from 2 to 60 letters.
  • Right under the name is your link, like mr-ahmed.hessety.com · Available ✓. This is what you'll send your students on WhatsApp. Want a different one? Tap Change it:
    • It uses English letters, numbers and dashes, 3 to 30 of them, the way you'd type Franco.
    • You don't need to tidy it: "Mr Ahmed" becomes mr-ahmed by itself.
    • If the link isn't free, we tell you why and give you 3 free links to tap.
    • You can change it once after publishing, and anyone with the old link gets to the new one by itself for 90 days.
  • "What do you teach?": tap your subject and it moves on by itself. Not in the list? Pick Something else and type it.
  • "Who do you teach?": pick every stage you teach, then Next.

2. Look

  • "Pick the look that feels like you": 3 looks that fit your subject and stage, all showing your academy's name. Try it opens one full screen, and Choose it takes you to the next question. Want to see the rest? See all looks.
  • If you picked a look in the gallery before subscribing, it comes first, marked "Your pick".
  • "Which colours would you like?": 8 sets of colours. Tap any of them and watch your academy change. The one marked "This look's colours" is the look's own.

3. Photos

  • "Show us your photo": if your Hessety account has a photo, it's already there, so tap Yes, continue. Or Choose a photo (and on a phone, Take one now). The round crop is already centred on your face, and you can move and zoom the photo if you like.
  • Heavy photos shrink by themselves before uploading, so a phone photo uploads fine even on a weak connection.
  • iPhone photo won't upload? Open it, take a screenshot and upload the screenshot. To stop it happening again: "Settings", then "Camera", then "Formats", then "Most Compatible".
  • "Do you have a logo?": Yes, I'll upload it (and choose square or wide), or No, make me one and we'll make 3 logos from your name in your colours. If your logo is a PDF file, open it, take a screenshot and upload that.

4. About you

  • "Tell your students a line about you": there's a ready line from your subject and stage. Edit it or keep it, and tap anything under Add a line (like "Revision before exams") to add a sentence by itself. Up to 300 letters.
  • "Where can students reach you?": your WhatsApp number is filled in from your account, and shows as a "Message me" button on every page. Want a different work number? Type it here. Under Add your pages (optional) you can paste your Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Telegram links as they are.

5. Payments

Your students' money goes straight to you, and Hessety doesn't take a single pound of it.

  • "How will your students pay you?": pick one or more:
    • Mobile wallet (easiest): the student transfers to you and sends the screenshot, and you confirm with one tap.
    • InstaPay: the same idea.
    • Visa and Meeza: needs a merchant account (an account with a payment company like Paymob). We'll connect it together after publishing, from "Your next steps", step by step with pictures.
  • "Is this your wallet number?": the number is filled in from your account, and the wallet type is worked out from its start (010 Vodafone, 011 Etisalat, 012 Orange, 015 WE). If it's right, tap Yes, that's it. Below it you'll see "This is what a student will see:".
  • "What's your InstaPay address?": like ahmed@instapay. If you type just the name, we finish it for you. Don't know your address? Tap I don't know my address, use my mobile number.
  • If you tap I'll decide later, the subscribe button in your academy says "Contact the teacher to subscribe" until you choose.

6. Publish

  • "Have a look before we publish": all your answers in a summary, each with Edit that takes you to that question and straight back.
  • We also got ready for you: terms, privacy and refund pages in your name, and frequently asked questions answered from your settings. The ready refund policy is "Full refund within 7 days if you haven't watched more than 20% of the course", and you can change it. It's your own policy, and you refund your students yourself.
  • Tick "I agree to the terms" after reading the three short points.
  • The button depends on your payment:
    • Payment confirmed: Publish your academy, then straight to the congratulations screen.
    • Payment still being confirmed: Done! Publish it once the payment is confirmed. Your academy goes live by itself as soon as we confirm, and we'll let you know. Meanwhile you can add courses and upload videos as usual.

"Later" and "That's enough, take me to publishing"

  • Later uses the ready answer and moves on. Important ones (like how students pay) come back later in "Your next steps".
  • From the second question, the That's enough, take me to publishing link takes you straight to the last screen, with ready answers for everything you skipped.
  • The two questions without "Later" are the name (it has a ready one) and "Have a look before we publish".

Saving, leaving and coming back

  • Every choice saves by itself, and typing saves a second after your last letter.
  • Save and exit takes you to your academy dashboard. When you come back, the Finish setting up your academy card takes you to the same question.
  • Internet dropped? What you typed stays on screen, and we save it as soon as you're back online.
  • Setup open in two pages? You'll see "The setup is open in another page too". Tap Refresh this page to carry on from the last thing you did.
  • Signed out? That happens if you leave the page for a long time, to keep your account safe. Sign in again and you'll be back at the same question, with everything saved.

Confirming your email

If your email isn't confirmed, we send you a message as soon as you open the setup, and under the first question you'll see "We sent you a message at …". Confirm it whenever you like before publishing:

  • Tap the button in the message, and the setup carries on by itself.
  • Or type the code (6 digits) from the same message on the publish screen. Handy if your email is on your phone and the setup on a computer.
  • Can't find it? Look in "Spam" or "Promotions" in Gmail, or tap Send it again. Wrong email? Tap Change the email.

After publishing: congratulations

  • Your academy's link with 4 buttons: Copy the link, Send it on WhatsApp (with a ready message you can edit before sending), Post it on Facebook (we copy a ready post for you to paste), and Open your academy.
  • A tip: upload your first video today. Getting it ready takes a few hours, so the earlier you start, the sooner your students find it.
  • Under it, Your next steps: add your first course, upload your first video, send the link to your students, and more. Each step ticks itself when you do it, and you can close the card with Close it, I know what to do and bring it back from "Settings".

Your academy dashboard in one tap from your home screen

Want your academy dashboard one tap away? It's an ordinary browser shortcut, not a new app:

  • Android: open your academy dashboard in Chrome, tap the three dots at the top, then Add to Home screen.
  • iPhone (iOS 26 and later): in Safari, tap the three dots (•••) next to the address, then Share, then Add to Home Screen.
  • iPhone (before iOS 26): in Safari, tap the share button at the bottom, then Add to Home Screen.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I change the look after publishing? Any time, without losing a single word. Your students see the new one when you tap "Publish".
  • Can I change the link? Once after publishing, and the old link leads to the new one by itself for 90 days.
  • I closed the page halfway. Did I lose my work? No, it's all saved. Open your academy dashboard and tap Continue.
  • My transfer was rejected? Your academy is saved as it is. Upload another screenshot, and it goes live by itself as soon as we confirm a correct transfer.
  • Why can't I find my academy on Google? Google takes from a few days to a few weeks to find any new site. The quickest way to your students is the link on WhatsApp.

Need help?

Every setup screen has a Need help? link that opens WhatsApp with our team, with a ready message naming the screen you're on, so you don't have to explain where you are.

Next step
