When your free trial ends

How to see how much is left, what happens on the last day, and how to carry on without your lessons stopping.

The free trial gives you 7 days to try Hessety with your students. Here's how to keep an eye on it, what happens at the end, and how to carry on without your lessons stopping for a single day.

See how much is left

  • On the website: in Account, the Your subscription card says "Free trial", with how many days are left and until when under it. Under those, you'll see how much lesson time you have left.
  • In the app: in Account, under your name, you'll see "Free trial ·" with the days left (like "Free trial · 5 days left"), and the same line shows on Home throughout the trial.

The trial's limits

The trial has the same limits as the Basic plan: Up to 4 hours of lessons a day (fair use), the first students speak, the rest watch. So you try Hessety exactly the way you'll use it once you subscribe.

  • Each day's time starts over the next day.
  • If you use up today's time, you'll see "You've reached today's fair-use limit" when you try to start a lesson. Just carry on tomorrow.

Before it ends

  • 2 days before, you get a notification and an email: "Your free trial ends on…" with the date, and a "Choose your plan" button.
  • In the last 3 days, you'll see "Your free trial:" with the days left at the top of Account on the website, with "Enjoying the trial? Subscribe to a plan now…", and a "Choose a plan" button.

After it ends

We hope you enjoyed it! Now's the moment to choose the plan that suits you and carry on with your students:

  • You get a notification and an email, "Your free trial has ended, and we hope you enjoyed it", with a "Choose your plan" button.
  • You can't start lessons until you subscribe to a plan. If you try to start a lesson from the browser, you'll see "Thanks for trying Hessety" with a "Choose your plan" button under it.
  • Your classes, students and their links are kept just as they are. As soon as your subscription is activated, everything works again, and you won't need to send new links.

On the website, you'll see "Your free trial ended on…" with the date at the top, and a "Choose your plan" button that takes you to the plans page. In the app, you'll see "Your free trial has ended" under your name in Account, then "We hope you enjoyed teaching with Hessety!…", and a "Choose your plan" button. And on Home, a line says "Your free trial has ended, and we hope you enjoyed it!…" with the same button.

Carry on with a plan

Choose a plan and pay, as in Paying step by step.

Choose when to pay. The days left on your trial aren't added to your plan: the plan starts on the day it's activated, and the trial stops. But don't leave it to the last minute, because the transfer review takes a few hours. It's best to pay a day or two before the last day.

The trial is once only

You get the free trial once per person: for the same email and the same Google account, even if you delete your account and sign up again. If you sign up with an email that has already had the trial, you'll see a message saying the trial was already used, and you can choose a plan right away.
