From the browser
The student's link opens the lesson straight in the browser, without downloading any program. It works on:
- Phones: Android (Chrome) and iPhone (Safari).
- Computers and laptops: Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
- Tablets: the same as phones.
The first time, the browser will ask for permission to use the mic and camera. Press "Allow".
From the Android app
If you have an Android phone, you can download the Hessety app. The advantage is that you get a notification as soon as the lesson starts, and your lessons are saved in "My lessons".
- Download the app from the download page.
- Open it and choose "I'm a student".
- Paste your personal link (or type the class code) and your name, and press "Join lesson".
The "Lesson started" notification goes to students who joined in the app with their personal link. Students who only joined with the code don't get it.
Which is better?
| Browser | Android app | |
|---|---|---|
| Need to download anything? | No | Yes |
| iPhone | Yes | No, use the browser |
| Notification when the lesson starts | If you allowed notifications and the page is open | Yes, with your personal link |
| Where your lessons are saved | The link in WhatsApp | "My lessons" |
On iPhone, use Safari and keep the page open in front of you, because iPhone may stop the sound if you lock the screen or open another app.
