Messages with your students

Message a student, or a whole class at once, and reply to your students from the app or the website.

Last updated: October 22, 2026 1 min read

Every student in your classes has a conversation with you. They see your messages on their lesson page (their personal link) and in the Android app, and they can reply.

Message a student

  • In the app: open the class, press ⋮ next to the student's name and choose Message.
  • On the website: in My account, press Message next to the student's name.

Message the whole class

To tell every student something, like "tomorrow's lesson is an hour later":

  • In the app: open the class and press Message the class.
  • On the website: on the class card in My account, open Message the class.

Each student gets it in their own conversation with you and can reply on their own.

Where are my students' messages?

In the Messages tab of the app, or the messages icon at the top of the website. The red number is how many are new. With the app on your phone, you get a notification for each message.

The Hessety team

The first conversation in Messages is always with the Hessety team. Write us any question or problem there, and we'll reply there and by email.

Good to know

  • Messages are text only, up to 2000 characters.
  • Your conversations with your students are private to you and them. The Hessety team doesn't see them.
  • Removing a student or deleting the class erases their conversations.
  • Students who joined with the class code and no personal link have no conversation. Add them to the class and send them their links.
