1. Create your class
- Open the Hessety app and sign in.
- In the My classes tab, press "+ New class".
- Type the class name, like "Math · Grade 12".
- If you like, type your students' names, one name per line. You can also add them later.
- Press "Save". You'll land on the class page.
Or on the website: on the Account page, type the class name under New class and click "Create class".
2. Send each student their link
On the class page, there's a "Send link" button next to each student (a WhatsApp button on the website). It opens WhatsApp with a ready-made message that has the student's link in it. This link never changes, so the student uses it to join every lesson.
Students don't need an account or a password, and they don't have to download the app: the link opens the lesson straight in the browser.
3. Start the lesson
- On the website: on Account, click "Start lesson" on the class's card. The lesson opens in the browser, with nothing to install. See Teach from the browser.
- In the app: press "Start lesson" on the class page, or on the Next lesson card on Home.
Students who have their links open join automatically, and students with the Android app get a notification that the lesson has started.
If you signed up with email, you need to confirm your email first from the message we sent you. Otherwise you won't be able to start the lesson.
A helpful extra step
Set the class's weekly Schedule on the class page ("Edit schedule"). It will show up in This week, and a student who opens their link early will see when the next lesson is.
